Service Aims

Benefiting children and families

The SCMA community childminding service will benefit children and families within local communities by aiming;

  • To provide temporary relief, for caregivers and their families
  • To encourage childminders to assist in providing care to children with disabilities, additional needs or to families where there is no other form of support
  • To assist in providing additional childcare in areas designated with high indices of deprivation
  • To tackle disadvantage in remote communities through the provision of local affordable, flexible childcare places
  • To build on the highlighted need for childminders to diversify and become more involved in Family Support
  • To liaise closely with other agencies directly in contact with users
  • To act as role models to support parents and carers in developing key skills
