National Outcome 2: We realise our full economic potential with more and better employment opportunities for our people

The community childminding service will:

  • Increase employment opportunities, and encourage those who might not have otherwise done so, to move into the employment market
  • Provide additional specialist training for childminders which will improve self-esteem, increase their profile, confidence and life skills
  • Create sustainable local businesses due to development and diversification of service

National Outcome 3: We are better educated, more skilled and more successful, renowned for our research and innovation.

The community childminding service will:

  • Provide specific tailored training to childminders to ensure service provision is successful
  • Provide an innovative solution to Early Intervention which focuses on the clearly defined benefits of a flexible and family focused child care package

National Outcome 5: Our children have the best start in life and are ready to succeed

The community childminding service will:

  • Provide places for pre-nursery children who require to develop their social skills ready to engage with nursery provision
  • Provide temporary relief, for care givers and their families
  • Provide role models to support parents and carers in developing key parenting skills

National Outcome 8: We have improved the life chances for children, young people and families at risk

The community childminding service will:

  • Provide additional childcare in areas designated with high indices of deprivation
  • Empower childminders to provide care to children with disabilities, additional needs or to families where there is no other form of support
  • Provide support for vulnerable families and children

National Outcome 10: We live in well designed, sustainable places where we are able to access the amenities and services we need

The community childminding service will:

  • Tackle disadvantage in remote communities through the provision of local quality, affordable, flexible childcare places
  • Build on the highlighted need for childminders to diversify and become more involved in family support

National Outcome 11: We have strong, resilient and supportive communities where people take responsibility for their own actions and how they affect others

The community childminding service will:

  • Increase numbers accessing community health resources and parenting support
  • Reduce the number of families working with, and relying on, statutory agencies
