Finding A Childminder
SCMA cannot release contact details of the childminders on our system under the Data Protection Act. However, here are some numbers of organisations that can help you find a childminder working in your local area, or one close to your place of work.

Scottish Childcare Information Service
If you are looking for a childminder, you need to contact the Childcare Information Service run by your Local Authority. They will be able to provide a list of childminders working in your local area. It is then up to you, the parent/guardian to contact the childminders on the list to find out whether they have a vacancy suitable for your child. Visit the website www.scottishchildcare.gov.uk for more guidance.

The Care Commission
The care Commission holds a complete register of childminders and they can be contacted via their website at www.carecommission.com or call 0845 960 296 for more guidance. The website also has a 'Care Service' list, which gives details of childminders and their latest inspection reports.
