From induction training for those new to childminding to specialist training for community childminders, SCMA lets you learn as you go.

Learning with SCMA

Some days, childminding can be as challenging as it is rewarding. It’s at those times you’ll be especially glad to call on SCMA for training that fits your needs. We’ll help you to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to handle all sorts of situations.

Childminders come under the category of ‘social service workers’. So the codes of practice laid out by the Scottish Social Services Council apply. Under these rules, there’s an obligation for workers to “take responsibility for maintaining and improving their knowledge and skills”.
