50 things to do before you're 11¾
Are you ready for an outdoor adventure?

The National Trust has launched a new website to get you and your family out and about exploring the world around you – a perfect opportunity for childminders to discover new activity ideas and things to do with the children in your service.

50 things to do before you're 11 ¾ includes climbing a tree, making mud pies, build a den and much more. Some activities maybe easier than others, but taking part in just a handful of these ideas will ultimately add to the beneficial experiences of your minded children.

What are the 50 things to do before you’re 11¾?

As a guide, the National Trust has also launched a ‘parents area’ which includes information on using their website, how to prepare for activities and safety tips, to support parents and carers. Read more

As we know children learn from play, and together with the Care Inspectorate SCMA is encouraging childminders to take part in more outdoor play.

The Care Inspectorate encourages early years services to “take a positive approach to risk in order to achieve the best outcomes for children…support children to enjoy potentially hazardous activities such as exploring nature and playing in the mud and rain…”

Our Outdoor Play workshop aims to help childminders improve the quality and provision of outdoor play. Find your nearest Outdoor Play workshop
