Can you help the Children's Commissioner celebrate Universal Children's Day?

Thursday 20 November is Universal Children’s Day and Tam Baillie, Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People, is celebrating the 25th birthday of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

SCCYP is launching a Pinterest board on that day with the aim to raise awareness of children’s rights and the UNCRC. The board will be populated with images and messages from children and young people in Scotland – either in a group or as individuals.

Here's the big question:

What’s worth celebrating about children’s rights in Scotland today – what’s the brightest right in your life?

The children or young people could respond to the question by colouring in and writing on the gift tag attached (if you could print this out on an A3 sheet of paper) – or they could create their own art work or short video through which they answer this question.

They could write out the relevant number or text of their brightest right(s) on big bits of paper too.

Once this has been done, take a photograph of the children and young people holding up their work and email to ezmie.mccutcheon@sccyp.org.uk. Please ensure that you have full permissions for this to be shared online on social media platforms.

Each and every image will feature on the new Pinterest board as part of UNCRC 25th Birthday celebrations this year.

SCCYP will be tweeting throughout the day – if you are on twitter, the user name is @RightsSCCYP or follow the hashtag #uncrcbday.
