Could you be a SCMA Community Childminder?

Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) are running a Community Childminding Service in the North West of Glasgow, which is funded by Glasgow City Council.

The service enables SCMA to provide free childcare spaces to families referred from a variety of sources such as Health Visitors, local nurseries and other agencies. This service is an early intervention provision that aims to deliver support to families who may be experiencing some difficulties. The Community Childminding Service in Glasgow has so far supported families struggling with illness, bereavement, post-natal depression and isolation.

In order to provide a more efficient, streamlined service SCMA would like to look at the possibility of recruiting further Community Childminders. If you think you can do that little bit extra and make a difference to families within your community then this could be for you!

To become a Community Childminder you will be expected to attend specific training, to enable you to undertake the work in a confident manner.

At present Jacqueline Spence, SCMA Community Childminding Co-ordinator, is looking for the details of anyone who may be interested in taking part in the service and will retain this information until definite arrangements have been finalised.
To register your interest please contact Jacqueline on 01355 238593, mobile: 07552 279233 or email: jacqueline.spence@childminding.org.
