Early Years Information Pathway has been updated

The Early Years Information Pathway (EYIP), produced by NHS Health Scotland, has been updated.

The EYIP is intended for Childminders, Family Nurses, Midwives, Health Visitors, Education staff and the wider early years workforce. It lists the national information resources available to professionals and how to order them to facilitate effective communication with parents and carers to improve maternal and child health outcomes. It is available free to download as a PDF and print.

The update includes both the maternity contacts and the core home visiting programme contacts offered to families by Health Visiting services as outlined in the Universal Health Visiting Pathway. This provides professionals with a complete overview of all the contact points from both Maternity Services/Family Nurses and Health Visiting. This will aid professionals and ensure parents are given consistent professional advice throughout pregnancy and the early years.

The resource is colour-coded for ease of navigation and to ensure resources are given out by the appropriate professional at the optimum time. All resources are fully downloadable from links embedded in the PDF.  To find out more about these changes click on the following link http://www.healthscotland.com/documents/3708.aspx
