NHS Education for Scotland and Autism Network Scotland are inviting childminders to their ‘Autism Spectrum Disorders in Early Years’ event on Saturday 13 August in Edinburgh.
Childminders play a significant role in both identifying concerns around Autism Spectrum Disorders and supporting children, young people and families during and after the diagnostic process.
This free event aims to help childminders, and those working within early years settings, to recognise and respond to possible Autism Spectrum Disorders.
On the day, presentations will be delivered by Dr Gail Milroy, Educational Project Manager (Autism) at NHS Education for Scotland and Jayne Porter, Adviser at Autism Network Scotland. Followed by a series of workshops, there will also be time for a Q&A session and a networking opportunity. This will give everyone a chance for for further discussion; to share strategies, resources and signpost to useful support.
