SCMA is very excited to be partnering with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to launch SCMA Accredited Open Badges. To promote the forthcoming launch we are hosting a FREE webinar on Wednesday 22 March, 7-8pm to let you know more about Open Badges and why they are important to your childminding business.
Open Badges are digital records of accomplishment, skills, qualities or interests that recognise learning and achievement. An SCMA Accredited Open Badge will allow our members to verify their skills, interests and achievements and these virtual badges will evidence how learning has been put into into practice.
“This is an exciting development for SCMA and our membership,” said Anne Condie, Head of Childminding Services, SCMA. “When it comes to learning we appreciate that showing evidence of continuous professional development can sometimes be a struggle. SCMA Accredited Open Badges will make this easier because they capture indicators of accomplishment, skills, qualities and interests connected across informal and formal learning contexts. As digital records of achievements and skills that are tied to assessment and evidence, they can be built upon, and stacked, to tell the full story of your learning.
“The free webinar that we have organised in March will explain this in more detail and I would encourage all our members to register their interest today.”
