New updates now available for the SCMA Care Plan Organiser

The SCMA Care Plan Organiser, one of SCMA’s best-selling publications, has been updated.  The organiser is an all-in-one tool that helps childminders record all the information that is needed for minded children as set out by the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010.

The main update within the Care Plan Organiser concerns Risk Assessment and Risk Assessment for Outdoor Activities within the Additional Records section.  As such, it now contains the Care Inspectorate statement on risk in play and includes a new Risk Benefit Assessment Template. The template is aimed at assisting childminders to evaluate potential benefits of outdoor play/activities with a view to taking a proportionate approach to weighing risks against beneficial outcomes for children. The Risk Benefit Assessment Template is available to buy as a refill priced at £3.50.

SCMA members are able to purchase individual Care Plan Packs priced £5.00 which include the following forms: Record of Information; All About Me; Accident/Incident Report; Permission for Extended Outings; Medication Permissions and Record of Medication Given; Child Protection Documentation; Ages and Stages Checklist; and Personal Development Plan.

Other inserts available to purchase separately at £3.50/£4.00 include: Permission to Give Medication; Record of Medication Given; Accident/Incident Report; Risk Assessment; and Risk Assessment for Outdoor Activities. In addition there are a variety of inserts that can be downloaded free from the membership zone.

The full Care Plan Organiser remains priced at £35.00.
