Remember to submit your Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application

We know the majority of you are already members of the PVG scheme, and if not you'll be receiving a notice from the Care Inspectorate instructing you to apply in due course.

The Care Inspectorate started contacting all existing childminders in August 2013, regarding enrolment for PVG membership, and this will continue until all childminders are members of the scheme. This process will take some time, and the Care Inspectorate is keen to stress that no action is required from you until they have contacted you.

However if you have already received your application from the Care Inspectorate, you must complete and return it as soon as possible.

The Care Inspectorate has stated that you must submit a fully completed application with payment for membership of the PVG Scheme for regulated work with children to the Care Inspectorate (including verification of identity). Failure to do so may result in an enforcement notice from the Care Inspectorate with potential cancellation of your registration.

To check your status or find out more, call the Care Inspectorate on 0345 600 9527.
