SCMA has been named as an Open University Champion, thanks to the wide range of learning opportunities and resources we offer our childminder members.
Both the Open University and SCMA recognise the distinct and valuable contribution that childminders make to the wellbeing of children in Scotland. Alongside our existing Learn with SCMA workshops and e-Learning, childminders can now also explore a variety of free learning materials and online courses from the Open University (OU).
The OU offers free online resources on meeting the needs of children, the unique role of the childminder, policies and procedures, risk assessments, professionalism, and promoting your service.
You will gain a digital certificate for completing the OU’s short online courses, but don’t forget that all learning and training counts towards your CPD and should be added to your SCMA
