SCMA provides a range of learning opportunities, specifically for childminders, which supports the development of high quality practice in line with current legislation and guidance.

Childminders come under the category of ‘social service workers’ and so the code of practice laid out by the Scottish Social Services Council applies to you. Under these rules, there’s an obligation for childminders to “take responsibility for maintaining and improving their knowledge and skills” – your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Learn with SCMA aims to help childminders build on their CPD; including workshops, e-Learning and access to webinars and complimentary courses. Taking part in these opportunities enables you to take responsibility for both your professional development and that of your childminding service – focussing on children, to help them achieve their full potential.
