During this Unit learners will explore and reflect on the various considerations around the Quality of Childcare Progression, including: the importance of play; personalised development plans; promoting positive behaviour; and challenging risk.
When you have successfully completed this Unit, you can then go on to complete any of the other units in any order. When all six have been successfully completed you will then receive the Complete Childminding Learning Pathway, Work Based Award. This provides a total of 24 credits at SCQF Level 7.
UNIT 4: Quality of Childcare Progression includes three Continuous Professional Learning Courses available as either interactive sessions or e-Learning.
Participants will be provided with a support system from SCMA - experts in childminding across Scotland. This includes access to our website and Helpline.
When you successfully complete a CPL course within the unit, you will be invited to apply for a SCMA Accredited Open Badge. These are digital certificates of accomplishment.
Your Personal Portfolio is an organised collection of evidence that shows your accomplishments both in and out of your childminding service.
SCMA is a Skills Development Scotland Individual Training Account (ITA) Approved Provider. Funding will give eligible learners £200 to fully fund this Unit.
If you have already completed some of the courses within UNIT 4: Quality of Childcare Progression since April 2014, your prior learning will contribute towards the knowledge and learning aspect of the Work Based Unit.
This unit is available as an e-Learning option. Booking by e-Learning allows you to complete the course at time that suits you.
