Festive News and Opening Hours 2022

Festive News and Opening Hours 2022
Each year SCMA makes a small Christmas donation to charity and this year the SCMA Scottish Executive Board has chosen two charities to share our festive gift – ‘Baltic Street Adventure Playground’ and ‘Beautiful Inside and Out’.

Baltic Street Adventure Playground
Nominated by Pauline McInally, Baltic Street Adventure Playground is a local charity, which was setup in 2013 to address the lack of play space and out of school provision in the Dalmarnock area of Glasgow, to help improve the wellbeing of children and families in the community.

Baltic Street Adventure Playground is supervised adventure playground for children aged 6-12 years. Younger children are welcome with a carer or guardian. It is free to enter, children are free to come and go, and free to play as they choose. Read more about Baltic Street Adventure Playground HERE.

Beautiful Inside and Out
Nominated by Heather Paterson, Beautiful Inside and Out is a local charity, based in South Ayrshire, which provides bespoke counselling and bereavement support to parents and young people in crisis. Read more about Beautiful Inside and Out HERE

SCMA is proud to support the incredible work of these two charities, and the invaluable work they do for people and families in their communities and across Scotland.

Staff Training Day
SCMA will be closed for staff training on Wednesday 7 December. If you need to contact SCMA, please email information@childminding.org, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

SCMA Festive Opening Hours
SCMA Head Office will close at 12 noon on Thursday 22 December for the festive period, re-opening as normal on Friday 6 January 2023.

If you need to renew your SCMA membership, insurance or place any orders, you can still do so, using our 24/7 shop via the Membership Dashboard. Any orders placed on, or after Thursday 22 December, will not be dispatched until we return on Friday 6 January 2023.

During the festive break, if you have an emergency and need to speak to someone at SCMA, please call our Helpline (01786 449063) where you can leave a message, and someone will call you back.

We’d like to send a massive THANK YOU to all childminders in Scotland for their support, dedication and commitment to children and their families throughout the year.

We hope you are able to enjoy a well-earned break – stay safe, have fun - and we wish you all the very best for 2023.
