The purpose of this course is to consolidate and build upon your child protection knowledge. This course is designed with childminders in mind who have previously completed child protection training and are looking for a course to enhance and refresh their learning.

This course will cover:

  • A review of prior knowledge
  • The National Practice Model
  • Using Chronologies
  • Handling Disclosure - Policy and Procedure
  • Case Studies

    This course will help you to:

    1. Build on previous child protection training and enhance your practice further
    2. Be aware of national guidance, standards & legislation that must underpin practice
    3. Be aware of learning gained from significant case reviews
    4. Build on existing knowledge and develop confidence in keeping children safe
    5. Understand tools within the GIRFEC framework and how to use them within your setting

    Our Learn with SCMA team can arrange any SCMA course to come to you - wherever you are in Scotland.  

    Provided you know at least six SCMA members interested in a particular course, we can provide the training.  We can arrange for any of our Continuing Professional Learning courses to be organised for groups of 8-20 SCMA members at a date, time and place to suit you and your group.
