CELCIS and the University of Strathclyde have partnered with FutureLearn to deliver a free online course on caring for vulnerable children.
The course explores some of the issues involved in caring for vulnerable children at a time of austerity when public services are shrinking. It covers:
- what risk and vulnerability are
- how children can be provided with security through meaningful relationships and attachments
- the skills involved in communicating with children and young people.
- The course will also cover differences between methods of practice and different possible interventions. It will conclude by reflecting on the current politics of caring for vulnerable children in a time of budget cuts and increasing child poverty.
