Location: Flexible

Salary: £42,174 to £48,447 

Contract: Temporary for 12 months – secondment opportunity available

The Care Inspectorate is the independent scrutiny and improvement body for care and social work services across Scotland. It has a significant part to play in improving services for children, young people and adults through regulating and inspecting care services and carrying out strategic inspections of services for adults, older people, children and young people and criminal justice. They are here to make sure that people receive the highest quality of care and support, whilst ensuring that their rights are promoted and protected. 

The Care Inspectorate has been asked by the Scottish Government to develop a quality pathway or framework for new childminders in recognition of the importance of making high quality training available to childminders at the beginning of, and throughout, their careers.  

They are looking for the right individual to lead the project on Childminding Induction. Working with partners in the Early Learning and Childcare Team, Children and Families Directorate within the Scottish Government, you will develop proposals for an induction framework for individuals who may be considering registering as a Childminder.  

To ensure the success of the project the induction framework must be accessible and take account of existing national policy and frameworks.  Focussing on good outcomes for children, it should have a variety of mediums for delivery and should be modular based.  

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have knowledge and understanding of early years health & social care practice, policy, theory and research, and have experience is leading complex management projects.
