The programme - designed from material provided by the Scottish Government - explains how you as a childminder can develop your practice using practical examples, explores the resource and how to apply its theory, stimulates discussion and encourages self-reflection. Each workshop costs £40, which is payable using your ILA or credit/debit card.

Building the Ambition – what is it?
Building the Ambition is guidance for everyone who works within early years. Regardless of whether you offer funded early learning and childcare places or not, it’s vital you read Building the Ambition and implement its themes, ideas and terminology into your childminding practice.
It’s important to remember that
all childminders are delivering early learning and childcare. In September 2014, all childminders in Scotland were sent a hard-copy of Building the Ambition publication (see image above) however it is also available to access online.

For the Care Inspectorate, you must be able to demonstrate your understanding of the guidance and show how you use Building the Ambition to improve your practice and meet the needs of your minded children.
