Our
#CheerforChildminding tweets earned almost 17,000 impressions on Twitter during Childminding Week; with our top tweet reaching almost 4,000 people.
On Facebook, you helped us share our key messages and we received a staggering response – with our main post reaching more than 12,000 people across Scotland, which obviously goes much wider than the childminding community and has maximum exposure to parents, carers, organisations, local authorities and others.
We received hundreds of fantastic photos of children across Scotland having lots of great experiences, learning and playing with their childminders. You created a wonderful positive message that will have reached thousands of people – and most importantly parents all across the country.
Parents will soon be able to make their own voices heard when ‘Funding Follows the Child’ is introduced as part of the expansion of funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC), where parents will be able to choose their funded ELC provider. It is essential that childminding is on the agenda and parents are aware of the high-quality service that you provide, and that you are part of their choice.

Childminding Day 2019
We were very lucky with the weather – yet again - this year, with more help from Mr. Sunshine, who made a special guest appearance at Blair Drummond Safari Park for Childminding Day 2019.
The finale of Childminding Week was incredible, with more than 1,250 people making their way to the exclusive Childminding Day SCMA Marquee to spend the day as a VIP.
