First Aid Training SCMA is pleased to be working in partnership with St Andrew’s First Aid to offer our members First Aid Training. Call 01786 445377 to book today.
The Baby and Child First Aid Training Course (one day, equivalent to six hours) is recommended by SAFA for those working in a childminding setting. It provides all the necessary First Aid Training required for childminders together with a knowledge of what to do in an emergency.
Of course, in partnership with SAFA we are also continuing to offer the Gold Standard Paediatric First Aid Course (two days, equivalent to 12 hours) which is suitable for those who wish to acquire a greater, more in-depth knowledge of First Aid Training.
Both courses will provide an overview of a Defibrillator, or AED (Automated External Defibrillator) which is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to someone who is in cardiac arrest.
Founded in 1882, SAFA is one of the UK's leading organisations for promoting First Aid standards. It is a professional, established, and an accredited First Aid Training Centre. The organisation is one of the main contributors to the First Aid Manual that covers everything from First Aid essentials to life-saving procedures. The latest edition of this best-selling First Aid manual gives readers the knowledge to deal with life’s little (and big) emergencies and will be given FREE to each candidate.
Every trainer and assessor with SAFA is professionally qualified and Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) certified. They guarantee an excellent learning experience each time someone attends one of their courses by making First Aid fun and easy to learn. Students are provided with workbooks and materials of the highest quality and suit a variety of learning abilities.
Candidates will spend focused time on the practical skills required to fulfil their role as a First Aider and to ensure they can deal with a variety of minor and major emergencies. All of courses with SAFA follow a competence-based assessment process. Candidates are assessed throughout their course so there is no need to worry about a final exam. Only those who are deemed competent will receive a certificate.
When you successfully complete your First Aid Training, you will be invited to apply for a SCMA Accredited Open Badge. These are digital certificates of accomplishment.
Every learner who attends a First Aid Course will receive the latest edition of the best-selling First Aid Manual that gives readers the knowledge to deal with life's little (and big) emergencies.
