“I’d like to take part in more learning with SCMA. Is there funding available to help meet the cost?”

Have you tried applying for a Skills Development Scotland Individual Learning Account?

A Skills Development Scotland Individual Learning Account (SDS ILA) could help you take part in more learning opportunities. If eligible, a SDS ILA could give you up to £200 per year towards the cost of learning. All SCMA workshops, e-Learning and additional courses can be funded using an SDS ILA.

Our most recent survey has shown that 35% of SCMA members have never applied or have never heard of an SDS ILA. Don’t miss out!

You could be eligible for an SDS ILA if…

  • your personal income* is less than £22,000 per year or you are receiving certain benefits.
  • you do not have a degree (or hold a postgraduate degree).
  • you are not taking part in any secondary, further or higher education.
  • you are not taking part in any training through the Employability Fund or Modern Apprenticeship, or participating on the Community Jobs Scotland programme.
  • you are aged 16 years or over.
  • you live in Scotland.

*Personal income is defined as the take-home income that you receive.
