The Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) is the national voice of childminding in Scotland. SCMA is a national Third Sector and membership organisation that promotes childminding as a quality childcare service. Working on behalf of its 3,500 childminder members, SCMA helps to improve the wellbeing and outcomes for Scotland’s children and aims to influence policy to ensure that it is informed by the experiences of childminding. SCMA provides a wide range of support and professional services for members including training and events as well as delivering local services. 

We are currently recruiting for the following posts to help us deliver childminding services across Scotland:


DATABASE AND MEMBERSHIP ADMINISTRATOR (Office Based)
Full-time 36 hrs per week: Salary £20,250-£21,917

As Database and Membership Administrator you will co-ordinate and assist with maintaining and developing SCMA’s eCMS (database and website) in line with our organisational needs.  You will also be involved in providing an effective and efficient administrative support service to our members.  This role will involve providing support to our internal teams including Marketing and Communications.

Most SCMA staff are currently remotely working from home due to COVID-19, however this role may develop into a blended working model involving a mix of office-based and home working.

The postholder is required to have proven ability to prioritise work, organise information and forward plan.  Enthusiasm, self-motivation, good communication and excellent organisational skills are required.

CHILDMINDING AND MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT OFFICER (Home/Office Based)
Part-time 18 hrs per week: Salary £22,533-£24,724 (pro rata for part time hours)

The successful applicant will work to support potential and new entrants to the childminding workforce.  You will provide support to SCMA members with their professional practice needs at all career stages particularly in areas where we do not have local staff.  You will also contribute to developing the quality, effectiveness and professionalism of Childminding by supporting new and existing childminders in line with our organisational strategy.

The postholder is required to have proven ability to prioritise work, organise information and forward plan.  Enthusiasm, self-motivation, good communication and excellent organisational skills are required.
