The key aim of this course is to help childminders to understand relationship-based practice, to help support children in having healthy relationships. It encourages childminders to understand their own approach to relationships because this directly affects how they connect with the children and families in your care.

In addition, this course explores the Rupture Repair Cycle, attachment styles, emotional regulation, boundaries, communication styles and containment.

The course will support childminders to:

  • Develop their knowledge of the core dynamics of relationships.
  • Explore practical examples of how to apply this in practice.
  • Use increased self-awareness and self-regulation to model behaviour.
  • Develop their understanding of how relationship-based practice will improve their childminding service.
