Following the success of our Infant Mental Health webinar in November, we are delighted to be hosting another free live webinar event – exclusively for SCMA members in January – exploring autism and neurodiversity and aiming to break down barriers and change the narrative.
Designed to further support your Continuing Professional Learning (CPL), the Autism and Neurodiversity Webinar is an exclusive membership benefit, and we’re asking you to
Save the Date.
The live online event will take place over two sessions:
- Part One | Wednesday 24 January | 6.45pm - 7.45pm
- Part Two | Wednesday 31 January | 6.45pm - 8.15pm
What is the webinar about?
We are inviting you to challenge any outdated beliefs about autism and embrace a fresh and overwhelmingly positive perspective. The session will renew your understanding of autism and arm you with the knowledge and empathy needed to create a more inclusive setting and an accepting world for all.
The second session will delve a little further into the lesser-known facets of autism, as we candidly explore the intricate inner world of being autistic, shedding light on what it truly feels like, and how our thought processes differ from neurotypicals. We will also discuss the strategies we use to conceal our autistic traits in various social contexts.
Who is hosting the webinar?
Special guest speaker Diane Wyse, from the
Scottish Autistic Consultants will be joining SCMA’s Susannah Knox and Lisa Mackay from SCMA.
Diane was diagnosed with autism almost two years ago, and when she looks back with hindsight and a deeper understanding, she knows it was obvious, but she was good at masking it.
Providing a unique perspective on the autistic experience to other autistic individuals and the wider community; alongside her husband, they founded Scottish Autistic Consultants, to offer autism training for families and organisations.
“We hope the upcoming webinar will be a transformative journey towards a brighter, more enlightened and inclusive future.”
As an exclusive benefit of membership from the Learn with SCMA team, it will be hosted via Microsoft Teams.
