Help Ipsos MORI understand the benefits of childminding
Ipsos MORI had a fantastic reaction to their initial round of childminding research - and we would like to thank everyone who got in touch with them and took part. The team at Ipsos MORI is now looking to recruit more childminders and parents to get involved to share their experiences of childminding, and specifically looking for childminders living in rural areas, and parents/carers of pre-school children with Additional Support Needs.

Help Ipsos MORI understand the benefits of childminding!
Ipsos MORI is carrying out research for the Scottish Government on the benefits of childminding for children and families. The aim is to better understand how people view childminding (including childminders and parents using childminding services), the benefits for families, and how childminding meets the needs of parents and children.

The findings will then be used to increase understanding about the value of childminding and to support more parents to access it for their funded hours entitlement. The research team are currently recruiting childminders, parents and carers to take part in a 45min telephone interview at a time of their choosing (participants get £30 as a thank you for their time).

Who do the researchers want to speak to?
Ipsos MORI had a great response in February. However, to make sure they speak to a broad mix of childminders and families, they would love to hear from you if you are a childminder:
- Currently delivering ELC funded hours and/or
- Based in a rural location

They would also like to hear from more parents and carers, particularly if they:
- Have a pre-school child using a childminding service that has Additional Support Needs and/or
- Have a pre-school child using a childminding service that is two-years-old and receiving funded ELC hours (for the childminding service)
