#OddSocks Day for Anti-Bullying Week

#OddSocks Day for Anti-Bullying Week
Over 30% of children and young people have experienced bullying in the last year alone, according to the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This Anti-Bullying Week 2017, Monday 13th – Friday 17th November, the Anti-Bullying Alliance is asking young people and families to wear #OddSocks on Monday 13 November 2017 to celebrate what makes us all different and all equal.

#OddSocks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity for children to express themselves and appreciate individuality. There is no pressure on children to wear the latest fashion or for parents to buy expensive costumes. All you do to take part is wear #OddSocks on the first day of #AntiBullyingWeek on Monday 13 November, it couldn’t be simpler!

Anti-Bullying Week is a great way for childminders to raise awareness of bullying and invite your minded children to get involved, and take a stand against bullies. Unfortunately bullying can happen anywhere that children come together – that’s why SCMA offer ‘Let’s Be Friends: Preventing Bullying Behaviour’ as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshop and e-Learning programme for SCMA members, which aims to help identify bullying behaviour and how to prevent it. As part of the CPD course, you will look at how to respond to bullying and ascertain best practice, as well as understanding the different forms of bullying and its effect on children. Everyone who works with children and young people has a responsibility to keep them safe and promote their wellbeing. BOOK ONLINE or CALL Learn with SCMA on 01786 445377 to find out more.
