Realising the Ambition: Webinar for Childminders on 16 June

Realising the Ambition: Webinar for Childminders on 16 June
UPDATE: We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to the invitation to the upcoming ‘Realising the Ambition’ webinar for childminders, which Education Scotland and SCMA are facilitating - it’s great to see that you are all so keen!

Unfortunately, the maximum capacity for the session has been reached – and in record-breaking time – therefore, we know that many of you may be disappointed. However, please be assured that the session will be recorded, and we will share this with all SCMA members soon after the event.

In addition, we are working with our colleagues at Education Scotland to explore the possibility of running additional sessions in the future, and we will update you as soon as we have more information.

Realising the Ambition: Being Me is the latest national guidance from Education Scotland aimed at all childcare professionals - from early years through to primary school-aged children.

Education Scotland and SCMA will be joining forces to deliver a FREE online webinar ‘Realising the Ambition Overview for Childminders’ on Wednesday 16 June at 6.30pm to explore the key messages in this national practice guidance and consider how childminders are using the guidance to support your practice.

Building upon the principles of previous guidance ‘Pre-Birth to Three’ and ‘Building the Ambition’, the new Realising the Ambition guidance replaces these documents, and presents key information about the characteristics of child development based on research and evidence all in one place.

The webinar will be run as a live event and provide an introduction to the guidance for those who are new to it, and an opportunity to reflect on practice for those who are already familiar and may already have accessed professional learning in this area.

Event: ‘Realising the Ambition Overview for Childminders’

There will be an opportunity to ask questions to colleagues from Education Scotland and SCMA; however, to ensure the smooth running of the session, we are encouraging childminders to submit their questions in advance. If you would like to do this, please use the option during the booking process to ‘ask the panel a question’. Your question will be asked anonymously during the session and may be grouped by common theme.

If you have any queries or issues booking onto this event, please contact Education Scotland directly using the 'Contact' provided on the event page here.
