SCMA is recruiting for the post of Quality and Engagement Officer

SCMA is the national voice of childminding in Scotland; a national Third Sector and membership organisation that promotes childminding as a quality childcare service.

Working on behalf of its 4,000 childminder members, SCMA helps to improve the wellbeing and outcomes for Scotland’s children and aims to influence policy to ensure that it is informed by the experiences of childminding. 

SCMA provides a wide range of support and professional services for members including training and events as well as delivering local services. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Quality and Engagement Officer as we seek to strengthen our membership activity through a planned programme of engagement and outreach activity. As Quality and Engagement Officer you will:

- Conduct engagement and outreach activity to promote best practice and contribute to developing the quality, effectiveness and credibility of childminding across Scotland.
- Represent the organisation and advocate on behalf of childminding at local and national events and forums as required.
- Facilitate communication and encourage a two-way flow of information and discussion with childminders at a local level.

You will embrace the ethos and values of SCMA and display enthusiasm, self-motivation and a desire to represent childminding. You will have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to prioritise work, organise information and undertake travel as required. 

The post is full time, 36 hours per week and will be office/home based with expected travel in Scotland. Starting Salary: SJC AP4 Pt 27-30 £24,171 - £26,755 and we operate a contributory pension scheme which you will be auto-enrolled into (subject to the conditions of the scheme).
