SCMA is recruiting two part-time Childminding Development Officers, one in Aberdeen (12 hours post) and one in Glasgow (18 hours post), to support the delivery of Community Childminding services in the respective areas.

Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) is the national voice of childminding in Scotland. SCMA is a national Third Sector and membership organisation that promotes childminding as a quality childcare service.

Working on behalf of its 4,000 childminder members, SCMA helps to improve the wellbeing and outcomes for Scotland’s children and aims to influence policy to ensure that it is informed by the experiences of childminding. SCMA provides a wide range of support and professional services for members including training and events as well as delivering local services.

You will have experience of delivering training to adults; an awareness and understanding of families
and the support needed; working collaboratively with key agencies including Early Years; and have an understanding of childminding and the role of childminders.

Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills are required and working as part of a team is
essential. You should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, and highly developed written and oral communication skills.

The posts are home-based but will require travel and attendance at meetings within the geographic area when current restrictions are lifted (including occasional travel to Head Office in Stirling). Equipment and broadband/IT connections will be provided.

Starting Salary: AP3 PT 23 £22,310 (pro rata) and we operate a contributory pension scheme which
you will be auto-enrolled into (subject to the conditions of the scheme).
