Last Friday we reported that following discussion with SCMA and the Scottish Government, the Scottish Funding Council had confirmed that colleges should continue to make payments to childminders and we provided a template to support members with this process.
Since then we have received some reports from members who have used this template and have already received confirmation from their local colleges that payment will re-commence. This is very positive.
However, we have also received some reports indicating that there is a lack of clarity with some colleges, regarding cases where notice may already have been served. We have shared this information with the Scottish Funding Council and will update members as soon as we can.
We are also working to clarify the position with university students.
