Surprise guest unveiled for the SCMA Annual Conference
SCMA is thrilled to announce that Dr Elizabeth Kilbey, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and star of Channel 4’s hit series The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds, will be our surprise celebrity guest at the forthcoming Annual Conference.

With the theme Childminding develops a child’s mind, Elizabeth’s presentation will focus on the use of observation in relation to child development.

“We are delighted that Elizabeth will be attending our conference,” said Maggie Simpson, Chief Executive, SCMA.  “With a full time job, a book launch on the horizon and one of the specialists in child development on the much loved, award winning documentary series The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds, we know that Elizabeth has a really busy schedule. We are therefore so pleased that she is making the time to come to Scotland to address delegates at our conference on such an interesting topic. I’m sure she will have many tales to share with childminders and I am thoroughly looking forward to meeting Elizabeth and watching this presentation at our event.”

The conference is selling out fast and currently only 25% of places remain.

One workshop has now completely sold out.  As a result a new workshop has been added: Challenging Bullying, Promoting Respect, to be presented by respectme - Scotland’s anti-bullying service. This engaging, interactive workshop will explore the key principles that underpin their approach to anti-bullying in Scotland.

To support the announcement that Dr Elizabeth Kilbey will be attending the event, and the introduction of the new respectme workshop, SCMA has extended availability of the Early Bird Discount.  This will now be available until Friday 21 July 2017.

The SCMA Annual Conference is taking place on Saturday 30 September 2017 at the Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline. SCMA members are able to book their conference place online and if you would like to find out more about the event CLICK HERE or give Sarah a call on 01786 445377.
