SCMA is aware that the Scottish Government and COSLA have today published its
Guidance for setting sustainable rates for the delivery of funded early learning and childcare (ELC) in 2024-25.
The guidance sets out how providers will receive the funding to enable them to deliver the £12 per hour pay commitment from April 2024 through the sustainable rate setting process in 2024-25.
To support delivery of the commitment the guidance confirms that in 2024-25 funded ELC providers in the private and third sector, including childminders, will receive a minimum uplift of 7.6% to the sustainable rate(s) they received in 2023-24.
We understand that childminders delivering funded ELC may have questions regarding the implementation of this - SCMA will review the guidance in full and provide an update for members as soon as possible.
