Update on discussions with the Competition and Markets Authority
As you may know, SCMA has been working with our legal team to review our Childminding Contracts in light of COVID-19. We met with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on Thursday 9 July, to progress discussions regarding their current investigation into the complaints they have received into cancellations and refunds in the childcare sector. 

SCMA continues to liaise with the Competition and Markets Authority on an on-going basis and any further updates or progress will be shared with members as soon as possible.  

We know the vast majority of childcare providers have tried to be fair and transparent in their dealings with parents during these unprecedented times and we continue to stress this to the CMA, as well as reinforce the very real concerns that have been shared with us about the long-term sustainability of childcare providers.
