Presented with support from the office of the Children and Young Peoples' Commissioner Scotland (CYPCS)

Child-led participation is one of the core principles that every adult who works with children and young people respect. Taking into consideration children's rights, wishes and making their voice heard is the best way to establish a respectful adult-child connection.

Child participation is particularly important in childminding, due to the informal nature of the setting. In partnership with the office of the CYPCS, SCMA has developed a Child-Led Participation Guide specifically for use in childminding settings. Its structure follows the seven Golden Rules of Participation, produced by CYPCS to help practitioners all over the country get a better understanding of participation.

This workshop, developed with the support of the CYPCS, will explore children's rights and establish meaningful ways of involving children in your service.
