95% are “happy with SCMA membership”

Membership Survey results from November 2014 have revealed that 95% of members are happy with their SCMA membership. We regularly ask for feedback from our members to ensure we are providing the best possible service and meeting their needs.

“I appreciate the advocacy work that’s done by SCMA for childminders and childminding.”

At SCMA we provide members with a range of resources to support them and their childminding business. 42% rated our selection of Business Aids as “excellent” and 39% said our Helpline was also “excellent”. 

74% of members feel “well informed” or better regarding SCMA’s policy work – and thanks to our on-going work to represent childminders in Scotland, we were pleased to announce that FSA Scotland has recognised the knowledge that childminders have and clarified the rules surrounding food allergens. How do you…Learn with SCMA? 47% regularly attend workshops, 40% use our e-Learning programmes, 34% attend Network Meetings and 8% take part in webinars. However, 25% of members do not Learn with SCMA but we will continue to engage with these members and help them build on their professional growth.

SCMA provides a range of learning opportunities, developed specifically for childminders, including on-demand workshops, e-Learning and access to webinars and other complimentary courses.  This survey revealed that 26% of SCMA members have never applied for an SDS ILA to help fund their learning - don’t miss out, check if you’re eligible.

58% rated our new and improved website as “very good” or better – and with its new features, 20% rated the My Membership Dashboard as “excellent”.    

We always appreciate the new ideas that members suggest as part of these surveys and we are already working on making your suggestions a reality. Our future developments include an interactive Learning Log, additional e-Learning programmes and new CPD opportunities - all coming soon.
