Many of you will be aware that SCMA was allocated £60,000 by the Scottish Government to administer the
Childminding Workforce Support Fund. Prior to taking on this work, SCMA believed we could deliver this for much less and secured agreement from the Scottish Government that any balance remaining from the administration costs would be reallocated to the Fund, to enable more childminders experiencing hardship to benefit from financial support.
We are delighted to report that due to making efficiencies and keeping direct operational costs to a minimum, SCMA made significant savings and Scottish Government has agreed that we can make payments of £350 to a further 90+ applicants who just narrowly missed out on being awarded a grant in Round 2.
