As SCMA is the only organisation in Scotland dedicated to childminding, we look to our Elected Members, who represent childminding across Scotland. Your Elected Members have the knowledge and experience that helps SCMA maintain the professional status it holds today.
We currently have five vacant Elected Member positions – and we’re looking for more of our childminder members to get involved and help to steer the direction of SCMA.
Bringing your local knowledge and true childminding experiences to the table; being an Elected Member means you will have the opportunity to make you voice heard, contribute to opinions and ideas, and ultimately share your passion for professional childminding in Scotland.

SCMA’s Convener, Treasurer and up to 15 Elected Members from across Scotland freely donate their time, ideas and energy to form the Scottish Executive Board and direct the work of SCMA. We would like to thank the Elected Members who are stepping down this year, for all their contributions, guidance and support, which has been invaluable.
Current Elected Members are automatically entitled to complete their remaining term and have confirmed that they intend to continue and support the work of the organisation.
This year, we are welcoming three new Elected Member nominations.

As mentioned, we currently have five vacant Elected Member positions. Where there is a vacancy, emergency nominations may be accepted at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Your new Scottish Executive Board will be announced at the SCMA 2021 AGM on Saturday 21 August at 12.15pm (which will be held virtually due to COVID-19).
