SCMA launches new pack to support childminding groups across Scotland
SCMA is delighted to announce the launch of our new-look and re-developed resource for childminding groups, which aims to help you with all aspects of being part of a group.

‘Childminding Groups… All You Need to Know’ provides a wealth knowledge, guidance and top tips from the experts at SCMA. From building a new group with strong foundations, on-going support with an established group and also how you access funding options to keep your group afloat.

“Being a childminder is the most rewarding job, but I feel a little isolated…,” one childminder commented. The answer could be a childminding group.

“This guide from SCMA is very informative and helpful for those looking to set up a childminding group,” she added. “Children benefit greatly from being part of a childminding group, forming friendships with other children and the other childminders.”

In this guide, the team at SCMA will walk you through the different types of groups, the benefits of being part of a childminding group, your funding options and how to get started.

A childminding group brings childminders together to share ideas and good practice, keep up-to-date, identify training and learning needs, offer mutual support and help each other out if an emergency situation arises.

‘Childminding Groups… All You Need to Know’ is now available for SCMA members to download from the Membership Dashboard at childminding.org. Login now!
