Become a SCMA Elected Member
Want to help shape the future of SCMA and childminding in Scotland? The deadline for nominations is fast approaching, and we’re looking for YOU to join team of Elected Members and take your place on our Board.

SCMA is the only organisation in Scotland dedicated to childminders. Providing our 4,500 members with a ‘voice for childminding’ we look to our Elected Members, who represent childminders from across Scotland and make decisions for SCMA.

As a childminder, you already have the knowledge and practical experience of the profession and we want you to bring your voice to the table. It is our Elected Members, the knowledge and experience they have that has helped SCMA towards the professional status it holds today.

Our SCMA Elected Members freely donate their time, ideas and energy to support the Scottish Executive Board.  It is important that the Board reflects the geographical spread and diversity of our membership, and we are currently looking for nominations from SCMA members to stand as an Elected Member for SCMA.

SCMA needs YOU! Interested in becoming an Elected Member?

Download our Elected Member Nomination Form and return it to SCMA Head Office, 7 Melville Terrace, Stirling, FK8 2ND or email sarah.sharp@childminding.org to request a form.

The deadline for completed forms is Friday 18 August 2017.  All nominees, proposer and seconder must be SCMA members.   Further nominations can be accepted at the AGM from the floor.

To find out more about becoming a SCMA Elected Member, login to the Membership Dashboard and download our ‘Become an Elected Member’ briefing sheet from the Documents section.

Following the deadline for receipt of completed elected member profile forms we will share the nominees and open up voting to the members.  SCMA members will then be able to vote on who they would like to be part of their Executive Board.
