Childminding Week 2021 is here! Proudly hosted by SCMA, Childminding Week is an annual awareness event to celebrate the fantastic, high quality work of childminders throughout Scotland.
Over the past year childminders have gone above and beyond to support their minded children and families, as well as providing critical childcare at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to recognise, celebrate and give thanks for all their hard work and dedication during this year’s Childminding Week.
We believe it is vitally important - now more than ever - that childminders are recognised more widely as a valuable part of the professional childcare workforce. Childminders are already providing high quality, flexible care and learning experiences for more than 30,000 children across Scotland.
Once again, we are hosting Childminding Week 2021 (10-16 May) virtually across social media, to #CheerforChildminding and put YOU in the spotlight!

Childminding Week is all about raising the profile and increasing awareness of childminding in Scotland – showcasing how valuable childminding is to the wellbeing and learning of children, families and communities.
Sharing stories and photos from childminders helps to showcase their invaluable practice and highlight the true value and nature of childminding – as well as the positive impact it has on children, families and communities across Scotland.
What childminders do every day really matters, and the positive impact they have on children and families must be recognised more widely. We want all childminders to get excited, get involved and come together to celebrate your fantastic work.
