Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Audit 2026 | Survey for Childminders
SCMA has issued an email to all SCMA members today (Monday 24 August 2026) about our annual Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Audit.

Are you registered to provide funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC)?
Complete our quick snapshot survey and help us grow our evidence!

Your feedback and responses will help us to grow our evidence and understanding about the landscape of funded ELC in Scotland for the year ahead – increasing our influence and representation at both local and national levels, with the aim of making positive changes.

We understand that you are very busy, so we’ve kept this as short as possible – it is completely anonymous and should only take you five minutes to complete!

Please complete one survey from the two options below, depending on your current funded ELC delivery status:

If you are registered to provide funded ELC, please complete the relevant survey above before midnight on Sunday 27 September.

Making a Difference | Why is your feedback important?

SCMA regularly captures data from childminders to support change and progress for the workforce, and we’re commissioned each year by the Scottish Government to undertake an audit of local authorities’ progress in including childminders in delivering funded ELC.

As with previous years, your feedback will help to inform this year’s ELC Audit report. Our previous findings have been significant and impactful; leading to SCMA being invited to the
Scottish Parliament on a number of occasions, to present and deliver oral evidence on behalf of SCMA members and the wider childminding workforce.

We really appreciate the time and input from our members – thank you for your ongoing support!
