SCMA is supporting this year’s Road Safety Week (20-26 November) and we’re encouraging our members to get involved and plan your own road safety event.
We know Road Safety Week 2017 is not until November, but now is the perfect time to get organised. Visit
roadsafetyweek.org.uk/action-pack to register for this year's free resources, which are based on the theme of ‘Speed Down Save Lives’.
Ideal as a themed event for individual childminders or childminding groups, you could invite your local lollipop person or police officers for a special road safety event. Highlighting the potential dangers of the roads and learning about how to stay safe is vital for your young minded
children.
Making the event fun is also important to help get the message across. You could make traffic light biscuits or cupcakes, dress up in brightly coloured clothes, play games like traffic light tag or have snail race to raise awareness of speed.
Whatever you plan to do for Road Safety Week…have fun! And don’t forget to share your stories and photos with SCMA via our
Facebook or
Twitter pages.
