SQA confirms Work Based Award is worth 24 credits at SCQF Level 7

SQA confirms Work Based Award is worth 24 credits at SCQF Level 7
SCMA is delighted that the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) has confirmed that the Complete Childminding Learning Pathway – a Work Based Award qualification is worth 24 credits.

Originally classified as worth 12 credits, SQA has corrected their credit scoring to ensure the true classification of the Work Based Award is set as being worth a total of 24 credits at SCQF Level 7.

This does not make any difference to the Award structure, credit level or the content and learning involved – it is simply an amendment to reflect the correct credit status of the Award.

Janine Ryan, Head of Childminding Services and the SQA Head of Centre for SCMA, said: “This is great news, and we are delighted that the Complete Childminding Learning Pathway – Work Based Award as being worth even more credits than we originally thought.

“It also gives additional recognition to the learners currently progressing through the Complete Childminding Learning Pathway and all their hard work so far.”
