We are recruiting for the post of Childminding Development Officer
SCMA is pleased to invite applications for the post of Childminding Development Officer. The successful applicant will work in the City of Glasgow local authority area in a dual role on behalf of SCMA.

Firstly, to support the work of the Integrated Childminding Service, which operates city wide and provides a quality ELC and Community Childminding service. In this role the post-holder will provide a recruitment, support and monitoring service for childminders who join this scheme.

Secondly, to recruit and train new childminders in the Clyde Gateway area of Glasgow. This supports our partnership working with Clyde Gateway, Children in Scotland and Jobs in Business Glasgow to assist in meeting childcare needs in the area and to promote childminding as a potential career option (funded March 2020).

You will have experience of delivering training to adults, an awareness and understanding of families and the support required, working collaboratively with key agencies with Early Years and have an understanding of childminding and the role of childminders.

Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills are required and working as part of a team is essential. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, drive and highly developed written and oral communication skills are required.

Both roles each require 18 hours per week, combining to 36 hours. We will accept applications for those interested in the full 36 hours, but equally, will consider those who may be interested in a part-time role. Please specify your preference on the application.

The post is home-based. Equipment and IT connections will be provided.

Starting Salary: AP3 PT 23 £21,349 (pro rata) and we operate a contributory pension scheme which you will be auto-enrolled into (subject to the conditions of the scheme).
