SCMA Conference 2018 – have you booked yet?

SCMA Conference 2018 – have you booked yet?
Bookings are now open for the annual SCMA Conference, and this year our ‘Reach for the Stars’ theme is coming to the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow on Saturday 29 September 2018, inspiring our fabulous childminders to help our children reach their full potential.

As Scotland’s only dedicated conference event for childminding, the SCMA Conference 2018 is a premier event that always delivers on engaging topics and great entertainment.

With a packed programme of hands-on interactive workshops throughout the day, inspiring speakers and the opportunity to catch-up with old friends and make new ones – this is a must for childminders in Scotland.

“The SCMA Conference is always a key highlight in our events calendar and, as SCMA deliver nationwide award-winning events - this year, it promises to be very special,” said Maggie Simpson, Chief Executive of SCMA.

“Reach for the Stars has been designed to support the talented professionals working in the childcare sector and, as 2018 is the Year of the Young People, it will look especially at how childminders inspire children to achieve their potential, creating opportunities for them to develop and shine.

“For this year’s Conference we have already secured a range of inspiring speakers, which we will announce in the lead up to the conference.  What I can say just now is they all know how to motivate and engage with delegates, so those attending can expect a fun, educational and interactive conference. Personally, I’m looking forward to playing seriously with LEGO®!”

Our programme of half-day workshops for SCMA Conference 2018 (morning and afternoon sessions) have been developed to support our theme of Reach for the Stars with practical ideas on how to embrace change and step outside of that comfort zone.

Creative, hands-on and innovative, the workshops are meaningful and memorable for delegates. In addition, the workshops will come with Certificates of Attendance and attending the Conference will give you the opportunity to apply for an Open Badge, where you can demonstrate your learning and reflective practice.

Take a look at your workshop choices before booking your place at childminding.org/conference.

Also at the Conference you’ll find The Market Place, which is a networking hub where you can meet with fellow professionals, find out about new resources and share ideas. We already have a great range of exhibitors booked for the 2018 event for you to enjoy on the day.
